I am happy to announce that starting in August I will be hosting recordings that Patreon subscribers can join in with as they happen. The plan is for authors to record one month before the launch of their book so you are getting a sneak preview of their upcoming work and a chance to engage with the author directly.
The first of these being on the 7th August at 7:30pm UK time with Dr Helen Fry who will be talking about her upcoming new book "Why I became an X Troop Commando".
So How Will This Work?
The episode itself will be recorded normally as I would do any other episode of History Rage, but with this one I will be sending out the studio link for the audience to sign in and attend.
This will mean that audience members can interact via chat and submit questions to Helen as the interview goes on. Once the interview is finished and edited then it will be released early for all paid Patreon subscribers and will go on general release on the official launch day of the book.
How do I get on board?
I will be posting the link to join my Riverside Studio at approximately 6:00pm on the evening of the recording. This will be emailed to all active Patreon subscribers at the 'History Rager' (£5) level. It will also be posted on the Patreon feed within Patreon itself.
Just click the link, sign in, and away we go. Interaction is via the chat so you'll not even need headphones or a microphone.
If you're not a Patreon subscriber then you can join up here:
Will There Be More of These?
As I get authors on board there will be more. I am hoping to get to a regular one per month but a lot of that depends very much on the authors, publishers and the like. Some of the publishers that I am dealing with, for example, don't publish new work in non fiction in November and December.
I do,however, have Damian Lewis booked in for September so there's definitely another.
This is experimental for me at this stage, and I do hope it works. If you've got any questions, queries etc then feel free to contact me by of the means at the bottom of the page and I'll do my best to answer.
I hope you will join me in this and we can make it a regular feature.
